Jeff Clark Memorial Silks & Satins 5K

We look forward to welcoming back fans of the popular Jeff Clark Memorial Silks & Satins race! Held on the first Saturday of Saratoga’s thoroughbred horse racing season, this fast and flat 5K starts and finishes near the beautiful Oklahoma training track.

Run or walk through parts of the East Side residential neighborhood of Saratoga Springs, near some of the horse racing facilities.

Join us for the Jeff Clark Memorial Silks & Satins 5K on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.! Every summer, this fast and flat race is an important event during the first weekend of Saratoga’s thoroughbred horse racing season. At the start and finish, enjoy the beautiful view of the horses warming up on the Oklahoma training track, across East Avenue from the Fasig-Tipton auction house.

Runners and walkers alike enjoy this 5K course that weaves through the historic East Side residential neighborhood, passing lovely homes and gardens.

Volunteers Needed

Course Marshals, Packet Pick-Up Staff, Finish Line Water
Our volunteer course marshals play a vital role in keeping race participants moving in the right direction at various intersections. We also seek helpers for packet pick-up leading up to the race and handing out water at the finish line. Thank you to all who volunteer to help the race run smoothly!

Race Proceeds Benefit Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga

Proceeds from the Silks & Satin 5K benefit Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga (THS), a 501c3 nonprofit organization supporting second careers for retired racehorses in leading safe and meaningful lives. These horses improve the mental health and emotional wellness that strengthens our community through equine-assisted therapeutic programming and the horse-human connection. Read more about THS here.

In addition to the parking lots marked on the map (which may require payment), the race takes place in a residential neighborhood in Saratoga Springs, so there are many streets where parking is allowed. Please observe all signs and be careful not to block driveways or hydrants. Some of the streets may be closed because they are part of the course. Review the course map for reference.

Awards

Race medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in both the Open and Masters categories, as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place age group winners in 5 year increments.

Special Offer for Registered Participants: Saratoga Race Course General Admission

The first 650 Silks & Satins 5K participants to pick up their bibs will receive a complimentary general admission ticket, courtesy of the New York Racing Association. The ticket can be redeemed on any day of the 2025 Summer Meet at Saratoga Race Course except for Whitney (8/2) and Travers (8/23).

There is a limited quantity of tickets, available first come, first served and one per race bib at packet pick-up.

National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame Admission for Silks & Satins 5K Entrants

Continuing the equine theme of this event, we will have 800 free admission passes at packet pick-up for the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs. We thank the museum for this wonderful contribution to the Silks & Satins 5K!
